The most attractive area is certainly the square on the lake with various attractions including the Lido, mini-golf, restaurants and ice cream parlors. It is also possible to visit the museum of fishing and of chocolate.

There are tourist moorings both in piazza lago and via meriggi.

Morcote is a picturesque village located directly on the shores of Lake Lugano, was included in the list of villages to be protected as “the Pearl of Ceresio” is considered one of the most beautiful and characteristic of Switzerland.

In fact, it is one of the most popular destinations for tourists.

Morcote is characterized by small streets, arcades, cores and a subtropical vegetation that have given it the name of “Pearl of Ceresio”.

All along the lakefront there are restaurants, bars and ice cream parlors that overlook the lake.

The characteristic narrow streets, the arcades of the old patrician houses, architectural monuments of great value and a lush subtropical vegetation make Morcote the “Pearl of Ceresio”.

We recommend a visit to the Scherer Park, surrounded by nature, or the church of Santa Maria del Sasso with its staircase and cemetery.

Morcote has many tourist moorings, also restaurants where you can arrive by boat, moor, visit Morcote and, why not, stop and eat in one of the restaurants with a loft on the lake.

Many pages could be written about Lugano, since it is the largest city and one of the most sought-after by tourists in all of Ticino.

The lakeside promenade starts from the mouth of the river Cassarate, passing through the cool Parco Ciani up to Paradiso (neighboring municipality on the lake) and is characterized by many restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors, fast foods, etc.  In addition, there are several swimming facilities and a few steps from the lake there is the imposing Casino of Lugano. As for museums and places to visit in Lugano you only have to choose.

There are several tourist piers to be able to moor your rental boat.

We recommend the "Grotto dei pescatori Caprino, reachable by boat. Located in front of the Gulf of Lugano - it is located on the only wild shore of Lake Ceresio.

The excellent traditional cuisine, the relaxing atmosphere in the middle of nature and a unique view of Lugano, Castagnola and Gandria, make the Grotto dei Pescatori a must for those who want to discover the true food and wine soul of Ticino.

Lake Lugano

Lake Lugano, also called Lake Ceresio, is partly on Swiss (Ticino) and Italian territory (provinces of Varese and Como).

It has an area of 48.7 km2 and a maximum depth of 288 meters. On its banks there are many villages, forests, parks, beaches, and so on.

Given the mild climate due to the Mediterranean Sea, the area is very popular with tourists who can bathe under the bright sun or rest in the cool under a palm tree.
